This 3 night course will prepare you for the Restricted Operator Certificate (Maritime) [ROC(M)] with Digital Selective Calling [DSC] endorsement.
Learn maritime emergency radio procedures, everyday operating techniques, frequencies, phonetic alphabet, procedural words and phrases, as well as Digital Selective Calling and the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System, [DSC/GMDSS]. Digital Selective Calling could save your life in an emergency situation. To operate a maritime radio, you require the certificate. Holders of a Restricted Operator Certificate (Maritime), issued before January 1st 2005, should also take this course to learn about the new digital communication channels on the new maritime radios and their use in an emergency situation.
Course materials are provided, including an instructional CD. The government exam will be administered in the third session.
